Volunteer Coordinator

Responsibilities:
Recruits for, coordinates and maintains consistent pack-out and van assistant coverage,
Trains pack-out team captains for hands-on volunteer management in kitchen,
Communicates regularly with pack-out captains for updates and modification strategies,
Serves as liaison between kitchen staff, delivery supervisors and Volunteer Department,
Provides and maintains constant communication with pack-out volunteers, Advocates for needs of volunteers, Coordinate and re-establish GLWD Speaker's Bureau, Coordinates department outreach and communication functions, Serves as department liaison with outreach coordinators throughout agency, Explores possibilities of volunteer roles for clients and client mobilization efforts, Assists in the management of agency advocacy efforts as they pertain to volunteer participation, Coordinates and assists with the management of Volunteer Department responsibilities for agency contingency plans and implementations. Coordinates and assists in the management of Volunteer Department and agency events. Performs other Volunteer Department duties as necessary (trainings, orientations, operations, etc). Schedules and tracks kitchen and van assistant volunteer hours using the Volunteer Department database. Maintains volunteer database with current and accurate information. Coordinates monthly volunteer exit interviews and compiles subsequent report data. Answers and screens telephone calls for prospects seeking volunteer opportunities. Distributes press kits, agency literature, and informational letters to potential volunteers upon request. Assists in agency outreach. This includes NMDC training, volunteer fairs, and various outreach presentations

Financial Analyst

Responsibilities:
Monthly reconciliation of bank statements, investment account, balance sheet accounts, Raiser’s Edge database to the general ledger, government grant vouchers to the general ledger. Analyze revenue and expenditure variances. Maintain monthly financial statements in Excel. Assist with preparation of the annual budget and quarterly reviews of actual results vs. budget. Compile data required for annual financial audit, tax return (990), state filings, Better Business Bureau and other charitable rating agencies. Organize incoming checks for deposit and data entry. Coordinate and oversee department volunteers. Assist with accounts payable including mailing checks and file maintenance. Assist with payroll preparation and reconciliation. Post entries to accounting ledgers.

Qualifications:
Degree in accounting or finance. Knowledge of accounting software and Excel.

Client Services Outreach Coordinator

Responsibilities:
Schedule and conduct outreach presentations to medical and social service providers in an effort to attract new clients to agency services including the Meal Delivery Program and the Nutrition Education Program. Coordinate agency presence at outreach events and conferences by engaging staff and/or volunteers and ensuring that all related print materials are available. Develop and maintain partnerships with social service agencies. Assist in data collection and preparation of statistical reports. Participate in client maintenance activities including enrolling clients, addressing interruptions in services and resolving eligibility issues with medical providers.

Adheres to HIPAA policies. Maintains computer and hard copy files of outreach efforts. Attends regularly scheduled HIV CARE Network meetings and other pertinent meetings. Maintains the Outreach Calendar and coordinates mailings. Order outreach supplies and promotional items. Conducts telephone interviews (intakes) to assess eligibility and register clients.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from a four year accredited college or university; at least two years related experience preferably in a medical or social services organization; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be well-spoken, engaging and dynamic when communicating with service providers, potential clients and members of the communities. Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to rapidly respond to questions posed by community members in the field. Sensitivity to people living with serious health issues and excellent customer service skills.

Knowledge of serious illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, cancer, diabetes, MS and Lupus. Must possess a positive team spirit and collaborative work style. Strong computer skills including the Internet, e-mail, listserv, database, and Microsoft Word and Excel experience. Excellent written, oral, public speaking, organizational, follow up and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
Drives van to deliver meals in a professional and courteous manner to clients located in New York City, and Hudson and Essex Counties in New Jersey. Prepares for delivery by completing van inspection, reviewing client paperwork and packing van with meals for distribution to all clients on your route. Follows all precautions for food safety, lifting, personal and van assistant safety and vehicle safety.


Job Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or at least two years work experience as a delivery driver. Must hold a valid NYS driver license with no convictions or accidents in the past 3 years, be able to lift up to 100 lbs., work a flexible schedule including overtime and holidays and work with a diverse group of clients. Excellent driving knowledge of the 5 boroughs is a must. Good oral, written and interpersonal skills.
