Internship Information
The
Internship Program of God's Love We Deliver provides an invaluable
opportunity for students to get a unique and candid look at the
world of non-profits by being on the inside of one of the most highly
regarded organizations. It also allows students to actively participate
in community service, thus giving them experience and contacts that
can prove useful long after the internship concludes. For us, internships
provide the capacity to support program initiatives, develop new
programs and expand current ones. We require a one semester time
commitment of 12 hours per week. Where possible, a two-semester
commitment is ideal. For graduate school and summer interns, hours
vary considerably. Most Internships are unpaid. A few are available
with a stipend.

Client
Services
|
Client
Services is the initial point of contact for potential clients,
and is often the only on-going contact clients have with our
agency. This department is responsible for completing an intake
process for each new client by asking a series of questions
and then independently verifying eligibility based on certain
medical and other criteria. Intake specialists monitor continued
eligibility of our clients and generate demographic reports
for other departments. We have a full-time Ombuds Officer
on staff who facilitates meeting eligibility requirements
on behalf of clients as well as advocates for clients regarding
issues beyond the agency's meal program. |
|
Development
|
The
goal of our Development team is to create exciting and innovative
funding opportunities for individuals, corporations and foundations
by encouraging them to participate in our mission. At the
base of our fundraising efforts lies the challenge of raising
adequate funds to keep pace with the ever-increasing need
for our services. In response to the increasing demand, we
have expanded and accelerated our fundraising efforts in order
to establish an extensive and balanced base of support and
revenue streams. This consists of bequests and major individual
gifts, direct mail responses, holiday catalogue sales, corporate
and foundation grants, and proceeds from special events such
as our annual trademark events, Race To Deliver and Sunday
Night Supper. |
| Executive |
The
Executive Director has primary responsibility for providing
the vision and strategic direction for the organization and
managing the day-to-day activities and operations. Working
closely with and reporting to the Board of Directors, the
Executive Director ensures that God's Love We Deliver is fiscally
and administratively sound and that its programs continue
to be of the highest quality, and meet the changing needs
of the epidemic. |
|
Facilities
|
The
Facilities Department is responsible for maintaining our 20,000
square feet state-of-the-art facility in SoHo. This ranges
from HVAC, Kitchen equipment, telephone system, and all furniture,
fixtures and improvements. This is accomplished by a staff
dedicated to maintaining the facility in an ultra clean and
pristine condition. Facilities also supports vital office
functions including mail systems and office supplies. |
|
Finance
|
Our
Finance Department oversees the agency's day-to-day fiscal
activities such as contributions processing, accounts payable
and receivable, payroll, banking and investment relations,
and financial reporting. The department is also responsible
for overall financial management, planning and forecasting.
Finance is integral to our strategic planning process and
to the development and implementation of systems which manage
our resources effectively and ensure our financial stability.

|
Government
Relations
|
This
department is the agency's primary liaison with government
granting agencies and public officials, and is responsible
for coordinating all aspects of securing and maintaining government
grants and contracts for the agency. Government Relations
is also responsible for identifying potential government grant
opportunities by educating public officials about the need
for services provided by God's Love We Deliver. |
|
Human
Resources
|
Human
Resources supports the entire agency by recruiting personnel,
developing and implementing personnel policies and procedures,
and coordinating management and staff training. Human Resources
implements staffing strategies including performance and compensation
management, competitive benefits and fostering positive employee
relations. The Human Resources Department continually researches
legal developments to ensure the agency's compliance. |
| Information
Technology |
IT
supports every department by maintaining our computer systems
including our proprietary client database tracking system
(known as "C.A.T.S."), arranging for employee training, analyzing
each department's future software needs, and providing daily
user support. |

Kitchen
|
We
are very proud of our Kitchen which is the cornerstone of
God's Love We Deliver. Each day, our meals represent a wonderful
fusion of science and art. Our menus are developed by our
Executive Chef and a team of cooks in collaboration with our
HIV Nutrition Specialists. We endeavor to provide the nutrients,
people living with HIV/AIDS need, in a form enticing enough
to tempt the palates of people whose appetites and tastes
have been altered by symptoms and/or medications. |
|
Nutrition
Services
|
Because
of the array of nutritional needs of our clients, we have
a team of HIV Nutrition Specialists who, along with our Executive
Chef, develops and balances our menus and ensures the overall
safety of food. In addition, The Nutrition Department provides
counseling and education to all people who need nutrition
information related to HIV/AIDS, whether or not they are eligible
for our meal program. |
